About Me

Somewhere, Florida
Mother. Wife. Daughter. Sister. Teacher. Professor. The list goes on and on. As usual, I have my hand in way too many fires (I mean that almost literally). I work three jobs (four, if my most important job of "Mommy" counts), have three kids (four if my husband counts) go to grad school, and am trying to make a go of this whole writing thing. So, read it and share it. I will write a blog when I can; just add it to the list. I'll sleep when I'm dead.

Where it started.....

I have wanted to be a professional writer since I was a little kid. I even "wrote" a book when I was about five...my mom wrote down what I said. My very first book went like this:

There was a little girl.
She went walking in the woods.
A monster ate her face.
It was a bad day.

Yeah, did I mention I was FIVE?
But, you know, there is something there. I had a main character--the little girl. I had a plot--walking in the woods, meeting a monster. I had a setting--the woods. I had a conflict--a monster ate her face. I even had an ending, sort of, in the bad day.

So, who knows. Was greatness started that day? Probably not. But now that I am actually getting paid (a little bit, but I will take it)to write, I think I will take this ride until they kick me off.

So, check out my stuff here. No promises, but if you like it, please share it. Early and Often.
What's next? A book. I doubt it...I'm a little busy. Maybe this summer.
Cheers,
Dori
